Akha Teej or Akshaya tritiya is an auspicious day for the Hindus and Jains.
'Kshaya' in Samaskritam means to erode/diminish. 'A-kshaya' means that which will not-erode or diminish.
Typically anything that you do today stays on, multiplies, and the ripple effect goes on and on.
The human body is transitory,whereas the soul is permanent as per Hinduism. Akshaya tritiya day therefore is an apt day to do anything that will nourish the soul as prescribed by our scriptures.
Some of them being Japam, Tarpanam, dhaanam..
It is amazing to know that it is a landmark day with significant anecdotes that are said to have happened this day in history..
Rishabha ,the first Tirtankara is said to have broken his year long fast by consuming sugarcane juice on this day ..
